Yarn alternatives
The Newbie Series can be knit with various yarn alternatives.

Alternative 1: One strand of thick mohair yarn

All kinds of thick mohair yarn can be used, for example
- Hipknitshop Fluff (50 g = 100 meters)
- Viking Mohrino (50 g = 100 meters)
- Camilla Pihl Fnugg (50 g = 80 meters)
- Dale Garn Myk Påfugl (50 g = 90 meters)
- Sandnes Garn Børstet Alpakka (50 g = 110 meters)
- Drops Melody (50 g = 140 meters). Note! Recommended needle size 8.0 mm.
- Rauma Tjukk Mohair (50 g = 105 meters)

Alternative 2: Four strands of thin mohair yarn
For thin mohair yarn, you can use most types (they usually have a length of slightly over 200 meters per 25 grams). To knit with four strands held together, you can knit from both ends of two skeins.

You can also replace two of the thin mohair strands with one strand of thin merino (most types that are approximately 200-250 meters per 50 grams will work), knitting with one strand of merino and two strands of mohair.

Alternative 3: Blow yarn held double
If you want to use blow yarn like Drops Air, Sandnes Kos, Viking Alpaca Bris (50 grams = 150 meters), you can use double strands (recommended needle size 8.0 mm)

Please see the specific yarn amounts on each individual product, or send us a chat

The purple Newbie Sweater is knitted in Rauma Garn Thick Mohair in the colorway Lys syrin, the blue Newbie Sweater V-Neck is knitted in Dale Garn Myk Påfugl in the colorway Kongeblå
