This knitting pattern is for an oversized cardigan with set-in construction, regular sleeves and crew neck, finished with 1x1 rib at the hem, cuffs, neck and button band.
The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down. You begin by knitting the back piece, before picking up stitches for each shoulder separately and shaping the neckline opening with increases. The front and back pieces are joined under the armhole, and the body is worked back and forth in stockinette stitch. The sleeves are worked top down by picking up stitches around the armhole. The button band and neckline ribbing are worked by picking up stitches along the front edges and around the neckline opening, then working a ribbed edge.
